Fight Traffic Ticket Fines Legally
There is nothing more disheartening than seeing those flashing lights of a police car in your rear view mirror! By law we must pull over to the side of the road when it is safe to do so and produce a valid driver’s license and registration documents to the police. What we are not required to do is enter into a dialogue with the policeman as to who is right and who is wrong.
The usual statement for a policeman to ask you after he has asked for your documents is “Do you know why I pulled you over?” This seems a simple question but answer this incorrectly and you will be admitting making the driving violation! What you say will be written down immediately on the policeman’s log book, and if you contest the ticket in traffic court, your statement will be made known to the court.
Never ever try to guess why he pulled you over! Even if you made an incorrect lane change never admit to it! If speeding, again never ask “Was I speeding?” That implies you were not aware of what speed you were doing.
The correct answer is a simple NO. You have no idea why you were pulled over. Do not argue with the police, nothing good ever comes out of riling them! Try your best to be nice and pleasant and you may get off with a warning.
In the event you are given a ticket make immediate mental or written notes of the whole situation. Time, day, driving conditions- wet, snowy, dry and sunny, traffic conditions- busy? Quiet road? Were you keeping up with traffic? What lane were you in when signalled over? Do you recall another car that may have triggered the policeman’s radar and he mistook it for you? If so what make, colour etc was it?
The most important thing you do next is to sign the back of the ticket to contest it within the 15 days and mail it back to them! Do not file away the ticket until later! Do not automatically pay the ticket!
The government made over 5 billion dollars last year alone on traffic violations! 5 billion dollars of citizens hard earned money! Quite a number of these traffic violations were wrong! They were innocent of the charges laid against them but it appeared easier to just pay it than fight it.
Stop throwing your hard earned cash away! Learn how to beat the system and keep your driving record clean. Start fighting traffic speeding fines now, with the right information you can easily attend court and produce the correct documentation to have your fines waived.
No need to be a super intelligent lawyer type! Anyone can do it!
